Vickesh is a software engineer that has spent 12 years building mobile apps for brands. After becoming frustrated with the amount of waste and lack of transparency the food system, he launched Horizon in 2020, now the leading recycling app on the App Store.

Helen Jackson

Helen is an environmental economist interested in understanding physical climate risks to human welfare within their geographical and socioeconomic context. She recently set up not-for-profit ClimateNode to explore the use of natural language processing and other data science techniques to research this.

Max Aragon

Max Aragon is a Mexican geoscientist currently enrolled in the Copernicus Master in Digital Earth at the University of Salzburg in Austria and at the University of Southern Brittany in France where he is applying Artificial Intelligence for Earth Observation.

Christina Last

Christina is a Research Data Scientist at the Alan Turing Institute, where she specialises in building machine learning solutions to understand our built environment. She has collaborated with city governments and international organisations on software and data science.

Alvin is a data science & analytics leader and entrepreneur who focuses on products & services mitigating climate change. Combining a background in physical sciences with experience in energy, strategy & analytics, Alvin helps consumers save money whilst doing good for the planet.

Ghislain Irakoze

Ghislain Irakoze is a sustainability entrepreneur and researcher. He founded Wastezon, a cleantech company that provides Machine Learning-powered materials traceability services. He sits on Global Greengrants Fund’s NextGen Climate Board and EU Commission-International Partnerships's Youth Sounding Board.

Abhayraj Naik

Abhayraj is a Bengaluru-based activist-educator, community builder, and systemic practitioner focused on art, ecology, education, technology, and transformation. He has over 15 years experience in citizen empowerment, design for transformation, climate justice, and systems transitions.

Andrew Thornhill

Andrew is a research botanist in a joint position between The University of Adelaide and The State Herbarium of South Australia. His research covers various aspects of plant evolution with an emphasis on Australian plants and large phylogenetic studies.

Ellie Young

Ellie Young is Founder of Common Action. Common Action is building community & software to enable cross-sector groups to converge, share and report data, and dynamically organise towards urgent global priorities.

Joel Chambers

Joel is the eighth generation of wine producers in the Chambers family of Rutherglen. Joel manages his parents 16ha vineyard and frequently experiments with different sustainable, eco friendly techniques with the aim to cut carbon emissions to 0 and to capture as much carbon into the soil as possible.

Grant Wilson

Grant leads the energy informatics group at the University of Birmingham, with a goal to make the energy system transition more understandable to a wider audience. Part of this is high quality open data, and part of it is using interactive web based delivery of the data to provide greater insights to users.

Eirini is a design engineer and entrepreneur. Previously, she worked on digitalisation, sustainability and AI at Nesta and the Alan Turing Institute. She is the founder of an ed-tech startup Filisia, and has worked as a researcher at the Morphological Computation Lab at Imperial College and Microsoft Research UK.

Stuart Brown

Stuart is a post-doctoral ecologist with a joint position between the University of Adelaide and the University of Copenhagen. His research is focused on the ecological impacts of rapid climate change, and the drivers of extinction and biodiversity loss across large spatiotemporal scales.

Darren Ray

Darren is a climate scientist and climate change analyst based in Adelaide, Australia. He is fascinated by all aspects of the amazing climate system we inhabit but dedicated to promoting climate change action to minimise the impacts in the remaining window of opportunity humanity has.

Keenan Johnson

Originally working in space exploration, Keenan’s interest in working on climate change went from a hobby to an obsession. He has worked with nearly 50 climate startups, currently serving on the advisory board for several startups, all whilst building Ribbit Network.

Olof Nordenstam

Olof is a web developer who has been living in the Greater China region since 2008 and currently resides in Taipei. In 2019, realising there was a need for better access to decarbonisation data, he launched LowCarbonPower.org.

Ayrton Bourn

Ayrton Bourn is a PhD student in the UCL Energy Systems & AI Lab where his research focuses on applying machine learning to wind power and electricity price forecasting. Ayrton's Subak Fellowship is based around improving the ability to link and automatically extract energy data.
